Cambridgeshire Wedding photography – A musical South Farm Wedding  ~ Sarah & Jules.

South farm wedding

One of my favourite weddings of 2017, literally filled with stunning details, beautiful music and such fun and happiness. Sarah and Jules had an amazing South Farm wedding in June and boy, was it a hot, hot day!

A few words from the Bride, Sarah:

Anything you would personally like to share about your day?

Gosh where to start! I think the main thing was due to Jules having been to hundreds of weddings as part of function bands we were desperate to create a great day for us but also a lovely enjoyable day for our guests too! Jules set to work in creating a mind blowing non stop medley of our favourite fun party tunes for the evening but also picking romantic jazzy vibes for throughout the day, hopefully bringing out the party aspect of everything post ceremony.

I wanted to create a day around the idea of ‘boho glam’ meaning we’d feel our best but without feeling unnatural or uncomfy! It was important to try and be ourselves with everything. This then bled down into our choice of Sheffield made Hendenson Relish and the idea of photo’s of our guests instead of plain name places.
 ~
We are both into our food and drink too and with South Farm creating such wonderful dishes it was wonderful to see and hear afterwards how much everyone enjoyed the food, finishing with informal sausage butties in the evening instead of a heavy buffet. This was also helped by the lack of evening guests – we had everyone there all day. We tried to make a child friendly venue even easier for our parent friends by putting on a creche from 7.45pm so they could fully relax knowing their children were well looked after and having fun too. This is one of the main things I would recommend for a child welcome wedding!

Any advice to future couples you have since learnt about the planning process/ wedding day?

Weddings are very long days for everyone so try and bare that in mind.. allow down time but also make sure there is stuff going on when you are busy off having Lucy take your photo’s or other things. The main piece of advise we were told over and over is make sure you make time for just you and your new husband/wife… to help remember and take it all in. It’s such a magical day and emotions run wild so take a few snap shots away from your guests to drink it all in!
 ~
Also pay, organise and do anything you can in bite size amounts. People laughed that I/we had our venue, photographer almost 3 years ahead, but it really helped out! By the summer before everything was ordered except Julian’s suit, and the bridal part outfits with a few smaller details left until we knew exactly what we wanted.
 ~
Be sensible about your money… it’s only one day (think about that in which ever way you chose). Also if you like an idea but it’s too expensive try and think about ways you might be able to make it affordable. Fiona really helped me from having £1000s worth of flower ideas to make an amount we could afford. She was brilliant at that!

Ask for help with everything you can. We saved thousands and thousands by having amazing friends taken up on the offer of help.
Keep a spreadsheet!

Thank you Sarah and Jules for asking me to capture your special day, big love to you both.

“It’s taken me a long time to get round to writing this review of the INCREDIBLE Lucy Noble – mainly because I have so much love for her and her work that I felt it was too big a task to write it all down!

So my new hubby and I met Lucy for an informal chat about 2.5 years ahead of our wedding just after we booked the venue. We knew INSTANTLY that she was the one we wanted to shoot our wedding day, and had shaken on it before I think she had even got the door to leave! She offered the perfect package but also the beautiful arty shots I love with the stunning mix of more ‘capturing the natural moments’ my hubster was in need of.” – Sarah & Jules

“Working with me (demanding bride and then some) who is confident infront of a camera and then slightly more uncomfortable in ‘posed images’ hubby must have been hard but not once did we ever feel uncomfortable infront of Lucy’s lens or that our needs/requests (ok mine) were silly, annoying or not worth the prompt reply I got from her. We felt at ease during the pre wedding shoot and of course the wedding day. Because of her lovely nature and skill we felt relaxed in every part of the journey with her – from the booking process through to our wedding day images being taken.” – Sarah & Jules

“Guests have commented on how they ADORE our images but were blown away as to how some have been taken as they didn’t even notice our ninja photographer being there in that very special moment. Perfect!

I also have loved the process post wedding day – Lucy drip fed a few WONDERFUL images after our day…perfect to keep the day alive for us but just so exciting when you see moments captured and what she has in store for you. I must say the delivery of the USB was just like a child at Christmas!” – Sarah & Jules

“Her talent speaks for itself I think – I can’t recommend Lucy enough… I’m just sad that I can’t get married again and have her there calming me down and capturing the most STUNNING natural moments. Also she made me and my new hubby look awesome so tbh I’d love Lucy just to follow me around and somehow make me look beautiful in everything I do! Hahaha!” – Sarah & Jules

“On a serious note though; Lucy Noble is a lovely lady and has brilliant talent. The images she has captured and then given us to help remember and cherish our wedding day are the most wonderful gift we could ever have asked for. They are truly beautiful and we are extremely lucky to have had her there to do so. Thank you Lucy! You’re biggest fan! – Sarah

Supplier Love –

After the venue and yourself which were booked about 2.5-3 years ahead because we knew we wanted you booked asap most other things were sorted by a mix of friends and suppliers. We can’t fault anything about any aspect of the people we worked with to create our day.
