Oxfordshire Wedding photography – A fun and musical Stratton Court Barn Wedding ~ Mel & Jimmy.

Bride & Groom portrait

On an overcast and rainy July day last year, Mel and Jimmy where getting married and lighting up a little corner of Bicester, over at the stunning Stratton Court Barn! It seems whenever I am photographing a Stratton Court Barn Wedding, they are always full of gorgeous details and such FUN days!

The Dresses!

What can I say about the dresses, gah! Mel’s quirky and beautiful wedding dress was by Katya Katya, a dress I simply haven’t seen anything like, it was so pretty and suited Mel perfectly! We found out on the day it had yet another bonus, as it seemed to soak up the rain drops quite quickly. ha-ha!

The bridesmaids dresses where so delicate and floaty, I think I remembered calling them all Greek Goddesses! … They all looked stunning!

I feel I should mention the guys suits at this point too as they where just as special! … Even their button holes where handmade instruments! Everywhere you looked there was visual treats for the eyes and it all came together so well!

Mel & Jimmy, I have loved getting to know you both and i’m so thankful to all your friends and family for welcoming me as one of the guests on the day. I left your wedding literally buzzing!

HERE ARE SOME WORDS FROM THE HAPPY COUPLE:

Anything you would personally like to share about your Stratton Court Barn Wedding?

Jimmy and I met at Birmingham Conservatoire 2010 so we knew music was going to be a huge part of our day. We wanted to share different parts of our journey with our friends and family and decided that our wedding was going to tell our story.

During the Ceremony we used music that Jimmy had written for my entrance. We had afternoon tea for our first date so we had afternoon tea for our first meal as Mr & Mrs. Jimmy wrote a song for his speech and performed it causing everyone to cry!

Both us and our families are huge Beatles and Rolling Stones fans. For our first dance and reception Jimmy had booked a surprise Beatles tribute band. During the break, Jimmy, along with members of the grooms party, appeared dressed as the Rolling Stones and performed a set of Stones classics!

Any advice to future couples you have since learnt about the planning process/ wedding day?

Melanie- Don’t feel like you have to follow the latest wedding ‘trends’ Your wedding day is about you and sharing your love for each other with your nearest and dearest. It is important to make sure that your day reflects you as a couple so make sure you add lots of personal touches.

Jimmy- Get as much planning done early on and don’t stress. It all comes together in the end. Make sure you have a team around you the weeks leading up to your wedding who can help with any last minute details or preparations. But most importantly have fun and add in a few surprises for your Wife to be so that she doesn’t have all the control!

“From the very first hello at a pub one cold evening last year to the big day itself on Saturday 22nd July 2017, Lucy has had us giggling and having fun. A little camera shy she made us feel at ease and we forgot she was taking photographs of us.

She takes the most incredible photographs and captures all those little moments that show just how much love there is between you.” ~ Mel & Jimmy
