Wedding Day : Advise from a videographer

You may remember that i have posted several wedding day posts previously where i have asked various suppliers to give their professional advise. Today it returns!! I am very happy to welcome the lovely Katie from Skinny boy weddings to share her knowledge with you all.

Wedding Day : Advise from a videographer

When is the ideal time for a bride to be to get in contact with you whilst planning their wedding?

In an ideal world, as soon as possible, particularly as the more popular dates get booked quickly.  However, some couples decide that they’d like to have a wedding film later on in the planning and we’re happy to take last minute bookings if we’re available.

Does the time of year make a difference to how your service works?

Not really. Obviously it’s darker and colder in Winter than Summer, so our films will feature less shots of people drinking Pimms and playing croquet in the early evening, but the Pimms and croquet is replaced by equally appealing red wine and cozy fires!  We shoot with cameras and lenses that are built for shooting in low-light environments and we’re equipped to shoot in any weather; although like most of our couples, we have our fingers crossed for glorious sunshine!

Are there any key things that couples would need to think about when planning your particular service?

The most important thing to consider is what style of film they would like.  There are a lot of great wedding filmmakers out there to choose from, each with their own unique style. There’s so much variety, which is a great thing (and it hopefully means that we’re moving away from old stereotypes).  It’s really important that couples choose a company that offers the style and service that best suits them. Our couples tend to choose us as they’re looking for someone with a discreet filming style who shoots short form (20 minute) films in a documentary style.  We really focus on capturing the natural moments, which we think make each wedding unique.
