I am so excited to finally be able to share this gorgeous wedding with you all! To say i absolutely loved this day is an understatement, i feel uttlery honoured to have been asked to capture such an incredibly intimate and stunning elopement London wedding.
I met Em & James in the morning at the Great Northern Hotel in Kings Cross where they were getting ready. We then jumped into a taxi to Islington town Hall for the ceremony, the wedding party was of 5. The bride & Groom, myself and 2 witnesses. After which we took a lovely stroll around the area before they headed back to the hotel to pack and jump on the plane for their holiday!
I’ll leave the rest to the lovely Em….
“We’ve never really had visions of a big elaborate wedding day- we love going to them and totally get the thrill of the celebration, but those of you who really know us will know we’d much rather be white washing walls than spending the equivalent of a house deposit on a dress of the same colour! We’d be holding hands whilst painting to be romantic of course ☺️
So when we found out that we were expecting a baby Hall it was the perfect excuse to take ourselves off to our favourite city in the world and sign on the marriage line in our own, secret way.
And what a secret it was! We’ll never forget the feeling of that Tuesday afternoon when everyone we know was getting on with their daily lives and there we were, in this beautiful city, ‘just us’. It doesn’t get more romantic than that.
We are so pleased we chose Lucy to capture all of the special moments through out the day so it would be possible to share a few of them with you now. She made us feel really relaxed and listened to what style of photo we liked as well as suggesting some great ideas herself. We mostly forgot we were being snapped as we got ready for our ‘big’ day in our hotel room, during the very intimate Islington Town Hall ceremony and then later when we were wondering the streets of Islington as a newly married couple in the warm London sunshine.
Choosing witnesses from passers by on the street was one of the best bits of the day! We are so happy that we happened to pick the couple that we did, as they brought such a positive and warming vibe to the ceremony, and the start of our married life! (Themselves being married for 30 years!). Thank you Charlie & Kim, wherever you may be!
We hope that you like the photos and they inspire you to take time to make your own special moments with those you love too ❤️”
James and Em would really love to get in touch with Charlie and Kim, who stepped in as their spontaneous witnesses, to thank them for being involved in their wedding ceremony. It was such a whirlwind, that we didn’t manage to get their contact details. We know they live in Islington, please help us find them through the power of social media!
